Eurochamp & BIOSCHAMP work together to boost opportunities for the EU mushroom sector

Eurochamp is a Spanish cooperative with 175 partner farms, born in 2000 from the merger of two cooperatives founded in 1974 – Unichamp (Ausejo) and Champiunión (Autol). Currently, it is the third producer in Europe of the white button mushroom Agaricus bisporus, and the world’s second-largest operator of processed mushrooms.

Eurocamp’s yield per year is 55.5 thousand tons of fresh mushrooms. Annually, it produces 90 thousand tons of canned mushrooms in its facilities, integrating all the steps of the production and value chain (compost, cultivation, manufacture and marketing) – with three fresh mushrooms storage facilities, a canning factory and one labelling and logistical plant. Eurochamp also exports to more than four hundred customers in forty countries.

“We believe that the only way to reach a mushroom production capacity such as this, while assuring the highest levels of quality, is having close contact with all partners in the value chain: from farm to fork. For this reason, we work in close contact with our farmers to secure the crops and its quality.”
