Mushroom Days 2023, A Review With BIOSCHAMP

The recently concluded 36th edition of the Dutch Mushroom Days in Den Bosch was a great success, attracting significant attention and international participation. The event, held from 10th to 12th May, witnessed the participation of 110 exhibitors from 18 different countries and drew an impressive crowd of 4555 visitors representing 83 countries.

Attendees had the chance to reconnect with long-lost acquaintances, some of whom they hadn't seen in years (the last edition of the Mushroom Days was held in 2019 due to the COVID pandemic). Additionally, the exhibition presented a series of innovations and cutting-edge systems, representing four years' worth of progress in the industry.

One of the highlights of the event was the prestigious Ambassador of the Industry Awards ceremony, held on the night of the first day of the fair. The ceremony honoured outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the mushroom industry and have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Four winners emerged: Bert Rademakers (Mycelium Materials) and Peter Christiaens (Fungivital) from The Netherlands, Greg Seymour (ISMS) from Australia, and Karel Sterckx (Sterckx compost) from Belgium. These deserving recipients were recognized for their invaluable work, both within their respective countries and on a global scale.

Overall, the 36th edition of the Dutch Mushroom Days proved to be a remarkable success, leaving a lasting impact on the industry and fostering meaningful connections between professionals from around the world.
